F Cancer
Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
To the women who fight illness every day. Here’s to Poppy. When I say F cancer it can mean a lot of things but today I mean Fight Cancer. You are the reminder we all need to never take our health for granted, it really puts our “bad days” into perspective.
You have been faced with a heck of a challenge, brain cancer. You have been fighting it for 3 ½ years now, you were told you would never walk again, that your brain would forget to tell your legs how to walk. You defied the odds, you are WALKING!
You kept your illness from your family for the first year, you grew from it and are now helping others like you in the best way we all know how! TIK TOK! LOL! But all joking aside when I saw your Tik Toks, it really hit me in my throat, my heart, with raw emotion and awe. You are a force to be reckoned with. You are the proof that positivity and gratitude go a long way, even when faced with such adversity like cancer. You are 100% better when you are dancing and inspiring others to do just that.
Sometimes the battle is too hard for others to handle but we have to stay strong and fight through it.

We attended a conference together this year and your aha moment was that that you could dream even when you didn’t feel your best. You got excited and decided to start raising money. You inspire others to start your dream now. Time is short and we have the ability to impact NOW. I am so so so proud to you have you part of the It Works! family and to see this generosity radiate from your sweet soul. I am so excited to join you on your journey of raising money with your Walk for Poppy challenge, for The Payton Wright Foundation. The Payton Wright Foundation was set up in memory of Payton Wright, the daughter to Holly and Patrick. Payton didn’t survive her fight with brain cancer at 5 years old. They set this foundation up in her honour to truly support families of these sick children, to cover the household bills of the parents who can’t work anymore. To provide gas gift cards for the countless trips to the hospital. To send special care packages to the kids that have just been diagnosed or to break up the mundane hospital life.
This movement of walking for them, would not be happening if it was not for you, Poppy. Your influence for change is strong and what we all need in this world. For someone who was told you would never walk again, proving those doctors wrong AND raising funds for all those kids that are going through their own battle. You are changing their world. I am joining you in that change and I’m asking YOU to come with me. Here is what you need to do:
· Walk/Run 5km
· Tag 5 people to do it too
· Donate $5 to the Walk for Poppy fundraiser
I will be doing all of the above, but I’ll also be matching up to $1,000 raised.
Let’s fight together, together we are stronger.
